Milton, MA - - November 5, 2009 – At the ribbon cutting ceremony today, Boston Building & Bridge was recognized for the completed renovation of a 110,000 square foot former office building at 125 Sixth Street in East Cambridge to be occupied by the Cambridge Police Department and the Emergency Communications Center. The Robert W. Healy Public Safety Facility is one of the first LEED Silver Certified police stations in New England. To meet the standard of a LEED Silver certification rating, the new headquarters includes a green roof, a high performance HVAC system, occupancy sensors, and low VOC emitting finishes and sealants. As the general contractor for this 18-month, $24 million project, Boston Building & Bridge renovated the facility that includes booking and holding cells, administrative offices, a media room, full service fitness area, as well as a state-of-the-art forensic laboratory.
