Groundbreaking for New Town of Mansfield Municipal Complex

Mansfield, MA - - November 19, 2016 – Today, Town of Mansfield officials gathered with the Honorable James Timilty, Senator, to officially break ground for the new Town Municipal complex. Charles C. Penta, Owner and President of Boston Building and Bridge attended the groundbreaking for the general contractor that has been selected for the $27 million project.

The new, large-scale complex will consist of multiple buildings that will replace the current facility at 500 East Street. The project will begin with a first phase of construction for a new 36,500 square foot Department of Public Works building. Then, in a second phase of work, the existing DPW building will be demolished to make way for the new 40,000 square foot Police and Fire Rescue headquarters that will be built in its place. The anticipated duration for the project is 32 months and the appointed architect is Kaestle Boos Associates.
