Ribbon Cutting for New Mansfield Public Works Facility

Milton, MA - - October 20, 2018 – Phase One of a Two Phase project on the Mansfield Municipal Complex was completed with a ribbon cutting ceremony today. City and state officials, representatives from Boston Building & Bridge and the general public were there to honor the opening of the new Department of Public Works facility. Highlights of the new DPW Building include inside storage of all DPW equipment that will extend the life of the equipment and improve working conditions with adequate ventilation, heating, and space allocation. This is part of a $35 million project off Route 106 on a municipal campus that already houses the Water Department, the new Department of Public Works facility, and currently under construction, a new Public Safety building which will house the police and fire departments.

The new Public Safety building is being built on the site of the demolished old DPW building and construction is well under way. The police station will replace the one on West Street and the firehouse will be replacing the North Main Street location.
