Scope of Work

Boston Building & Bridge was the general contractor to repair the masonry veneer at eight piers supporting the Viaduct Street Bridge in Boston. Repairs included complete removal of existing brick and granite veneer and reconstruction using new brick and salvaged existing granite. Installation of appropriate brick anchors, flashings, drainage cavity and expansion joint cover plates and sealants were additional features of the reconstruction.  The final phase of the project involved cleaning and recoating the paint of the Viaduct Street railings, D Street Bridge railings and structural steel and the installation of four ornamental light fixtures on Congress Street. 

 

Boston Building & Bridge received a Contractor of the Year award from Massport in 2011.
